Air quality in the work

In recent years have highlighted various diseases classified under the definition of "syndrome of malaise by building" because its buildings are considered guilty of some problems facing people who work there. 

It seems an exaggeration to say that there is bad from a building, but already in 1982, the Technical Committee of the World Health classified as "sick buildings" that the situation where more than 20% of workers showing signs of fatigue, sore headache, eye irritation, nose and throat abnormalities in the skin and lack of concentration. 

This syndrome is common in offices that use the air conditioner and keep windows closed. The lack of maintenance of air conditioning in the work environment contributes greatly to the development and proliferation of microorganisms and consequently the contamination. 

The productivity of workers can be strongly affected by poor air quality. Studies show that it take steps to improve ventilation systems, heating and air conditioning of offices, and the number of cases relating to the "syndrome of malaise by building decreases. 

A recent study conducted in Canada, shows the effect that a building was closed in the rate of absenteeism of workers in the office. It was seen as in a building with natural lighting and ventilation rate of absenteeism is low but once transferred to the workers in a building with modern ventilation system, air conditioning and windows closed, the rate has increased considerably. 

Considering the sources of contamination could be the same people in that release bacteria and viruses through the breath, coughing and sneezing, even objects from outside, not cleaned properly, can be a source of fungi and bacteria. 

Whether they come from people outside, contaminants may remain a long time in confined environments and the level of contamination will tend to grow as these microorganisms proliferate and accumulate. This cycle undermines the health of workers, students and those living in such areas, causing sickness, poor performance and more frequent absences. 

The actions needed to achieve good air quality in confined environments must provide for the maintenance of air conditioning systems, heating and ventilation, hygiene of surfaces, floors and objects. 

Air quality must be treated seriously and the air sterilizers help to provide an air with low contamination, even in environments with high degree of influence.
